About FRL Last Week....
I started working on Mon for some Orientation, Briefings and helping to pack the Goodies Bag for each schools plus tags for the Judges and Officials. Then, spent about an Hour talking to Ross about the SW Exhibition and talking cock with Idzani & Ross later in the Office before I took my leave.

Tues saw the start of the "Testing Out" Day for the 28 competitors. I was given the first batch of 5 Teams/Schools namely Admiralty Sec, Anglo-Chinese JC, Assumption English Sec, Cedar Girls' and Chestnut Drive Sec. Chestnut Drive came slightly later in the morning and stayed until they settled their Robot while ACJC came early, then left to do something to their robot, and came back in the evening to get their Robot approved as much as they can. Assumption English spent most of their time decorating their Booth since their team was divided into 2 groups, the ones handling the Robot and the ones taking care of the booth. Cedar Girls....well, their robot was gone case and they spent the whole of the day trying to get it to actual move in the first place. Admiralty Sec came late, something like at 4.30pm. @__@ The day ended at 5.30pm with all the last minutes trials and approving round for many school's robots. At the end of the day, we began ploting how puntual we can start the Seeding Rounds on Wed with only Chestnut Drive Robot approved and the other 3 (Admiralty, ACJC & AES) only need a little more work to be ready to go. Cedar Girls' Robot gets the "No Go" for the first Seeding Round as it can't even start up! @__@

Wed was good as everything went on smoothly. But due to the usual hickchups (aka schools not ready on time or misunderstandings on who to go next), the final Seeding Rounds was cancelled to ensure the day end on time. Later in the evening, the top 9 schools get to choose their Alliances. Can tell that certain schools had already formed their Alliances but a little bad luck prevented them from fulfilling it. Eg: Swiss Cottage obviously wanted to ally themselves with Chung Cheng High as in the final Seeding Round, they helped CCH get the most scores tho' their robots was also very good. But 2 schools choose them before CCH can choose them so they have to alliance with the 2nd school to choose them due to the fact that they can reject an alliance only once. =__= Then, we had the Bonding Nite and I ate and ate the lots and lots of food prepared that nite. The Laksa was great and pity I can't pack it home due to lack of Plastic Containers. =__=

Thur was the day all 9 Alliances compete againsts one another to see who will be the top 4 teams. Everything went on smoothly and the day almost ended on time if they didn't put in too many breaks in the earlier part of the day.

On Fri is the finals and the Alliance of Zhenghua Sec, Chestnut Drive and Riverside Sec emerged as the winner. After all the Prizes presentations, buying of merchandise (I gotten a Racer "Coach" Shirt plus a Cap), off we Staffs & Crew go to stuff ourselves with lots and lots of food in Newton Room. After kidnapping lots of Cheesecakes -__^ and Papaya, I joined Jane, Zaki, Jason and Henry for a little drink at that Cafe at Jurong East Library.

Overall, I'll rate the event as quite fun but still, NJRC is even more fun due to the bigger turnout. But still, something like NJRC happened at the end: Zhenghua Sec Teacher not happy that Swiss Cottage won the Challange Trophy even tho' they didn't get any prizes at first. Donno if he knows the meaning of "Being an All-Rounder" @__@
