Found This Interesting. . . .

From TORN dated the day before:

ROTK DVD Credits Translated
Xoanon @ 10:11 pm EST

Ataahua writes: Here is a copy of the Maori text in the end-credits of ROTK, with a translation provided by someone who is fluent in the Maori language. He said it was difficult to translate as the passage included metaphors which had to be interpreted, but once he knew it had to do with Tolkien’s Middle-earth the translation came easily:

Me mahara tonu taatou nga Uri-aapakura noo tuaanuku nei, noo te waaotuu te tu kekehua ana o ngaa Eldarin kua hohouu mai i te Uru-moana.

“Let us dedicate our memories to the spirits of the Eldar who came to us from the Ocean that lies to the West.”

And Oh! Happy Belated Birthday to Sir Ian Mckellen! ^__^ He became 65th last Tuesday.
I'm Forever Broke *Again*
Yesterday (since it's already past Midnight) was my Off-Day so off I got to Arab Street and Orchard Road for some shopping. After dragging myself out of the house at 3.15pm when I was suppose to at 10am, I went straight to Arab Street by MRT.

Went to my usual shops to get the White Silk Satin and Polyester Habotai Lining for Galadriel's Grey Haven Cloak to lent to TheElfQueen. After pondering for half-an-hour on wherther to get the shinier and thicker "Silk Satin" or the more sudtle Silk Satin, gotten 6m of the Silk Satin for SGD5/m. The lining on the other hand cost me SGD2/m and I gotten 4m since I don't need to do any yoke for the cloak or line the hood.

Then, went to stare again at that SGD190/7.8m Beaded and Bullion Embroderied Trimming. Still can't decide if I should explode my "hard-earned" SGD190 on that piece when according to the salesgirl, it'll not look good against Grey & Blue (the alternate color Coronation Gown) but will over Black (for the Arwen Mouring Dress but that is IF I redo it). Anyhow, the likeliness of the remaining amount able to sell off is slim even if I charge cheaply. So in it's place, I gotten some Gold Loops to add on to my current Mourning Dress and 4 kind of Beads for both the Arwen Mouring Dress and my future Galadriel Prologue Dress Belt.

After getting some Murtabak and my usual dinner at Raffles' Hospital Cafeteria (Banquet), off I go to Orchard to get my music CDs and ROTK DVD (and HMV is the only one offering the free poster >__< ).

List Of Amount Spent Today:
Cloth = SGD38
Beads/Trimmings = SGD9
Food (Dinner and Tapau 4 Tomolo) = SGD26.50
Music CDs (Including My Bro's CD) = SGD69
ROTK DVD = SGD44.95

Ouch! @__@ That is a LOT of money! >__< And I still haven't gotten the books History Of Middle-Earth and LOTR Hardcovers, or even Arwen's Coronation Crown and Gil-Galad's. O__O

Now I really wonder if I am able to get the Biker Scout Armor this August. @__@

I Think I Got It Again. . . .
A little extension to my current job as a Show Host of the LOTR Exhibition in Singapore.

Well, if I DO get the job, got lots and lots to learn about all the LOTR Props and Costumes on display. Frankly, I'll willingly do it as volunteer as long as I get the knowledge about my favourite Props and Costumes. -__^

I Hate Dirt-Head People. . . .
And that "Ranger" is a Classical Example of it! X-(

She came as volunteer yesterday after blasting a few months ago that she'll never volunteer at the SSC.

"Hmm. I'd like to take part in the launch because I have an interest in
LOTR and the exhibition, and would enjoy introducing it to others. NOT
because I have an interest in the Science Centre.

If I become a Volunteer Explainer, I'll have to do a MINIMUM 3-hour
shift once per month. I certainly don't want to do that! Attend the
briefing, fine. Wear my lovingly researched and handmade costume
and tell visitors about the exhibit, with pleasure. Become free monthly
labour for the Science Centre, no way. It does say that service hours
are negotiable, but I have absolutely NO INTEREST in doing ANY
service hours apart from what's required for the LOTR exhibition.
"

She wore her "Ranger" (Like Hida said, if it's a Ranger, why in the world is she wearing a Chainmail? Rangers are suppose to be as lightly dressed as possible and have all natural color! @__@ ) and started from the moment to show off it to visitors. Then, she allowed visitors to try out her bow and arrows in the Movie World. Even after many of us tell them off for doing something dangerous in the exhibition hall, she drag the visitors to rite outside the Annex Building and start all over again!

Hello???? Where you dump your brain? If anyone get injured, who you think will get the blame? Of course the SSC, MORON!!!!

Luckily, Anna saw them outside the exhibition hall and tell her off! And every Show Host except for the Thin Donut had requested that she should NEVER will allowed to come back again as Volunteer. \/ ^__^ With this kind of attitude (especially that every time she speak, she speak like some Big Head Dighead! Even at the Gala Opening Briefing, her endless unnecessary question made many people see her as some dighead).

And NO! I never see her as a friend after hearing how she talk like she's a Big Dighead and the LOTR Meetup!

Met Them Again!!!! \/ ^__^
And this time, I wore my Darth Maul Sith Training Shirt for fun to take photos with them. :Þ

The 4 of them also told me that their friends will be coming down around 24-26th this month and we can exchange photos then. Hope their friends also come in costumes! -__^ Will be bring down my Galadriel Dress to work and dump it at one corner just in case. -__^

Ps: My Sam, Leah/Parish's Backpack is still the most accurate. \/ ^__^ She got everything Sam has on his backpack except for the 2nd frying pan (the larger one IMHO). Luv you Leah! ^__^

FINALLY!!!! Some LOTR Cosplayers!! \/ ^__^
Yesterday, near late morning, a group of Japanese Visitors came to my work place, LOTR Motion Picture Trilogy The Exhibition, dress in LOTR Costumes. There were kawaii Legolas (with leaves over one arm and a kawaii Legolas-Panda), Sam with the Backpack, Boromir and Frodo (I think!).

I took photos with them and exchange addresses.

Can't wait to develop my photos with them (now I wish I had brought my Gown and wore it to take photo with them. -__- )

- Elven Archer (Aim for Rumil, then go for Haldir or Anarien? O__O )
- Arwen Battle Outfit
- Arwen Coronation Dress
- Arwen Coronation Dress (In Blue & Grey)
- Arwen Blood Red Dress
- Galadriel Prolog Dress

ONGOING LOTR COSTUMES/ARMOR:
- Ringwraith No. 2
- Arwen Mourning Dress Version 2.0
- Mouth Of Sauron
- Minas Tirith Fountain Guard
- Citadel Guard
- Prolog Gondorian/Numenorian Foot Soldier

Wait. . . .what's the last 2 armor doing in my list? O__O
This Is What Happened. . . .
. . .When I go cloth shopping. :Þ

Went out to Chinatown and Spotlight Tampinese with Fiona today. Help her look for some fabrics for her Xuan Hua Tian Yuan Costume from Celestrial Zone. In the end, this gotten this White Cotton-Linen like fabric which cost SGD2/yard and Green Polyester Lining. The shop selling the Suede for our Eowyn Vest and Corset is closed so we didn't get any (anyway, we are in no hurry to make the Shieldmaiden Outfit and Kickin' Orc Outfit respectively so there is time).

I on the other hand gotten 10 yards of this Grey Cotton fabric I'm intending to dye a Darker Grey and use it to make the Inner Tunic for my Haldir March Warden and Elven Archer Cloak. Initially, the cloth cost SGD4/yard but I managed to bargain down to SGD3/yard. Wonder if I could had gotten it lower to SGD2.50/yard instead. :Þ

Then over at Spotlight, I gotten 4.4m of Maroon Velveteen for SGD8.95/m for my future Arwen Battle Outfit. Hope that will be more than enough for the body part of the Dress and I can get more later if I'm to use the same fabric/color for the sleeves (will check the other 3 who had done it for ideas). So for the Arwen Battle Outfit, I only now need to get the fabrics for the Inner Dress and the buttons. -__^ Oh! Make it Hadhafang too! ^__^

So now, I'm kinda broke again. . . .sort of! I still got a check to bank in and the Marketing money should be received tomolo but then again, I really, really want a set of Biker Scout Armor so got to save as much as I can. -__- Don't want to withdraw anymore.

Off to check and clear my mail rite now. ^__^

One Of The Things That Inspired Me To Do. . . . .
A Themed LOTR Photoshoots. ^__^

Have a look at Moon Stone today out of boredom while waiting to get ready to go to work and meet Lord Sauron.

I saw a picture of "Pippin" in a Black Leather Tunic and the photo album dated 4/4/04 and then saw this:

Ooooooo! The Japanese LOTR Cosplayers had done a photoshoot on ROTK and the Coronation Garb! So Cool! ^__^ Hopefully, the Singapore one can follow suit! -__^ I got Arwen's Coronation Garb in planning so the slot of Arwen is filled. Qing Yuan also got Elrond's Robe from ROTK so that is also filled, while Nessa can wear a cloak over her Prolog Dress to be the Grey Haven Galadriel. Now I only need an Aragorn. -__^

Well, will bug everyone around mid-June for those not having GCE 'O' Level! ^__^

So Where Is My Heart Rite Now . . . . .
Just wondering is my heart is still in Star Wars still with me being EpIII Spoiler Free for the past 2 years (ever since I got interested in LOTR actually!) Will start saying why I'm saying this another time.

And I still wonder if I should get a Biker Scout Armor. @__@ I just e-mailed Jeff Allen of StudioCreation last nite to ask about the cost of shipping, and to fulfil my interest in his version ever since a few years ago when he offered the USD250 armor (well, that batch sell out pretty quick and now the new batch cost USD400).

Now, it's either the Biker Scout or Zam Wesell. . . . .

I'm still too fat for Zam anyway. >__<
