On another note, I have received my TPM Queen Amidala Pistol (Super Soaker) I won at eBay yesterday. Finally after over a week the item had arrived even tho' the seller is also in Singapore. =__= Will leave a Positive Feedback later tonite when I come back from Jurong East I think (if my bro comes home soon) since I got to photocopy those High Elven Armor Templates for Jacen/Coolvirus. Will also pass his money when I pass the templates to him.

So I now only need to get the Jango Fett Pistol (between the Hasbro one and Rubies) and a Stormtrooper Blaster (got to call that fellow again liao). The Padme Pistol from Rubies will also be cool if I can get it cheaply.

While on Blasters, I looked through eBay for the ROTJ Biker Scout Pistol and there are quite an amount on auction now. But those ending soon are at high price while the remaining got up to 6 days to the end of auction. =__= Budget after shipping of ~USD19.90 will be USD40. There is also the risk of the pistol not being as durable as one casted one from Kropserkel.

Will see if I will get some luck and able to get the pistol cheaply since I got till late this month when I finally gonna order my Biker Scout Armor. Shipping is 4-6 weeks so better end of this month if I want to get my Armor by end of Sept so got Oct to put it together. Well, USD65 for that 4-6 weeks shipping or USD110 for a week shipping......

Road To Bankruptcy........
E-mailed Scott over the cost of getting a full Biker Scout Armor and its Pistol from Kropserkel and below is the cost breakdown:

$350 US ST body armour kit
$180 US ST ABS rough cut helmet kit
$ 85 US ST blaster stunt
$ 65 US Shipping to Singapore by Expedited service
--------
$680 US product and shipping total
$33.32 US PayPal service charges on this amount
------------
$713.32 US total if paying by PayPal.
------------

Woh! O__O That comes to SGD1,177.14 !

Okay, I got the money technically ready to use but this will means I MUST work as much as possible during the run of the Star Wars Exhibition. =__= Basic Salary is surely SGD5.50/hour with a typical day getting SGD44 for 8 hours of work. A week of work will give me SGD308 and a month of no Off-Day SGD1320 minus CPF Contribution. Working from Late Nov till April will only earn me max SGD5,000.

Fine! I can clear the cost within 30+ days of working but must also consider the fact that I got a couple of UC and SSW items arriving end of the year or early next year at Simply Toys. Things like SSW Helm of the Mouth of Sauron (SGD54), SSW War Mask of the Morgul Lord (SGD82), UC High Elven Shield (SGD598), UC High Elven Sword (SGD380), UC War Helm of the Witchking (~SGD600), Anduril Scabbard (SGD225) and Strider Sword Scabbard (SGD260). =__= Ouch!!!!!!

Must really do more Hogwarts Robes and sell some of my collectibles to afford this rite now.

Anyhow, told Scott in my e-mail that will place my order around end of this month or early Sept so can receive it by end of Sept and run to Shawn & Jessica's house every weekends to put the parts together and be ready in time for the SW Exhibition or even the last couple of weeks Roadshows.

Wish me luck and this time round, there is NO TURNING BACK!!!!! 3 Years Plus of whinning about getting the Biker Scout Armor is long enough for me. -__^
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!!!!
May you have more decades of prosperity and racial harmony. ^__^ Nothing else feels like home. -__^

Anyhow, missed today's customary National Day Parade cause

I HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION!!!!! =__=

My nose started going runny and my eyes swollen after I ate my lunch of Instant Tosai so something in the flour or its fermentation process is not okay with my body now. So ended up sleeping off the whole day after swallowing 2 Panadol Cold as initially thot it's just a Flu coming up. There goes my love for Crispy Tosai.

Currently my eyes still swollen slightly and hope it will dwell down soon as my eyes looked too small. =__=

I Have Made My Choice……
On what kind of outfit I’ll be wearing for Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year. ^__^

So what it is?

How I actually came to the decision? Seriously, since 2003, I had wanted to combine one of my costumes with my Hari Raya Outfit. Initially want to do the Silver, High-Necked Elven Outfit but after 2 years of fail finding affordable Lace or Chiffon or Organza or even Patterned Satin for the Inner Dress, kinda had given up of doing it rite now.

Then this year, my Annwyn Gang recommended doing an Evil LOTR Characters Theme for ourselves during this year’s Halloween Party. After throwing around ideas on which I should do, from Mouth of Sauron to Twilight Ringwraith to Uruks, I remembered watch a part of the ROTK EE Documentary that talk about an initial plan to have Sauron at the Gate of Mordor during the Final Battles of the War of the Ring. His Outfit is very Elvish (with Galadriel-like belt too! -__^ ) and I thot, since I fancy Elves too much, why not do him?

Well, design his outfit from that single picture seems so hard as can't make out much. Then it stuck me to try making his Robe after Celeborn's TTT Robe which I think no one had tried doing before. Later, it strike me to kill as many birds as possible with 1 stone so the idea for it to be also my Hari Raya Aidilfitri Outfit striked me. -__^ Add a Tudung, maybe a small coat and I got something that can pass as Arabic-Inspired or Chinese-Inspired to the public eyes instead of totally LOTR. -__^ Anyway, this Outfit gonna cost me more than SGD200 so make as well use it as much as possible. I REALLY, REALLY need a proper clothing for Hari Raya and all those Weddings I'm gonna attend one of these days.

So till I get myself the Silver High-Necked Elven Outfit, Celeborn's TTT Robe will do the job. -__^

Was Reading Tintin in Tibet.....

TSAMPA
- 1 CUP ROASTED BARLEY FLOUR
- BUTTER
- TEA

Process:
1) Mix barley flour and tea to make a paste.
2) Add tea to desired thickness.
3) Fold to blend, then enjoy.

Serves 1-2

Tsampa

When I was a chef at a Tibetan retreat center, I always enjoyed browing barley. The Tibetans would put the ground barley flour in a zip-lock bag along with butter and tea, then mix it neatly with their fingers & break off small balls to eat.

Tsampa the Old Fashioned Way

2lbs. Hulled Barley
water
1 large Wok with two handles
large wire strainer
large metal bowl for catching sand
Large bowl for barley
Fine sand (clean)
1 stone grinder for grains
1 pillow case

Soak barley in water for 24 hours. Make sure water covers barley.
After 24 hours, rise then let barley dry till semi moist.
Heat sand in wok. Test sand temperature by splashing a little water on the sand
If the sand poofs into steam it's hot enough.
When sand is hot enough take a cup full of barley pour it into the hot sand in the wok.
Pick wok up with both hands and flip the sand and barley in the air in a skillfull way that the whole mixture falls back into the wok.
At this point the "puffing" of the barley will commence as will be
audibly noticeable by little puffing noises. When done the
barley should be medium gold brown in color.

Pour the hot sand and barley through the strainer and into the bowl.
The puffed barley should be in the strainer.
Place the puffed barley in another bowl and return the sand to the wok.
Repeat this till you pass out from the heat or till all the barley is puffed.
After the barley is puffed and cooled, place the barley into pillow case and tie the opened end closed.
With your bare feet knead the bag of barley to remove the husks and left over sand bits. Repeat if necessary.
Remove barley from pillow case when complete.
Set grinder for fine (like flour) and grind away.
Place Tsampa flour in an air tight container.

Mix small amounts with with hot water or tea and butter, knead briefly, break off into balls & enjoy!

TIBETAN BUTTER TEA

"1 tablespoon loose tea leaves (preferably a smoky black tea)
1/4 cup half-and-half (or half cream and half milk)
1 tablespoon butter
Salt

A) Boil tea in 4 cups of water for about 10 minutes. Remove from flame.
B) Remove the tea leaves from the liquid by pouring through a sieve. Add
half-and-half and butter to the strained tea.
C) Add salt to taste. (Tibetans like it very salty!)
This will cool the tea, so warm it briefly over a low flame, making sure the tea doesn't boil. For a frothy tea, pour it back and forth between two containers a few times."

TIBETAN BARLEY SOUP
"Barley can thrive even on marginal land. You can get pot barley at health
food stores. If possible avoid the pearled, or polished, barley, which is
less tasty and less nutritious.

Cut up enough mushrooms to measure 2 cups. Melt 2 tablespoons butter (yak
butter if available) in a larg saucepan and stir in vegetables until they
are well coated. Continue cooking over medium heat until softened,
stirring occasionally. Mix in 1/4 cup pot barley and then add 4 cups water
(preferable from the nearest mountain spring). Bring rapidly to a boil,
then simmer about an hour, covered. Just before it is done, add 1
tablespoon shoyu (soy sauce) and a grind or so of pepper, if desired. When
the soup is ready, it should be of a chowder-like thickness and the grains
should be soft but chewy. There will be a golden sheen on the surface and
the heavenly smell will waft you across the Himalayas."
