In Case . . .
Wondering why I haven't change the layout of this Blog in months, it's cause all the Layout provided by the all new Blogger is darn plain. And I have no idea how to create my dream one (First Layout will be Anakin-Vader: One Fate with the picture of Anakin back to back with Vader aka the Forbidden Love AOTC Poster) so I'm sticking to this one till I got it figured out. >__<

Well, I gotten the MS FrontPage 2000 (in Celebro is MS FrontPage XP and I kinda love it except for the linking function) so I'll try one fine day to create a new layout using MS FrontPage. Probably after CosFest this Sun.

Ps: I also have no website server that allow remote linking!

Phew! So Many, Many Days Without Me Writting Here . . .
Must had gotten very, very lazy these days. >__<

Anyhow, CosFest 2003 is barely 6 days away and I can barely imagine myself as Galadriel. Well, one can say due to the skin color but actually, it's because I been sweating way too much these days that I wonder if I can keep my makeup on for even 10 minutes! @__@ Think it's about time I use that Free Makeup coupon I gotten from buying Qoo a month so so ago. But must go down to Orchard to settle the appointment first. Hai, if I had the choice, I'll rather go for a makeover (the cheapest is SGD58 at Far East Plaza) but I'm very, very broke rite now that I'll barely be able to pay for my Galadriel gown this Fri/Sat.

Anyhow, still got to do some beading on the "Belt". The picture doesn't show how the front of the Gown looks like so I'm using the design from Eowyn's White Wool Dress. Initially thot of just using those iron-on crystals on the Brocade Trimmings but the seller caution me against it so I had to somehow beaded the whole thing, if not the part that'll hang down. And must also add a kind of hard backing to the brocade to make it harder aka Galadriel's Gowns Belts.

And I've decide not to order my Elven Ears yet till I really, really can confirmed the shipping cost from Germany (the UK one don't sell the ears any more! >__< ). Everyone seems to recommand it but the person handling my e-mails about the shippings previously wasn't being that optimist about sending it without Insurances. Getting the Woochies ones seems like a more cheaper idea but the shipping again surpass the cost of the item (since when it doesn't? Wait, it didn't for my last purchase from US of those Jedi Comtech which cost USD36 but shipping was a mere USD5!). And the fellow who is selling them on eBay haven't replied to my question about making an exception for me (he don't ship outside USA). Just hope it's NOT because he replied to my now default SingNet Address! >__< Maybe I should start posting more on the LOTR_Costumes ML and ask who's willing to help me get and send those Woochies ears.

Sooo, I must keep my Blonde "Hair" covering my ears all the time this Sun. Hope too that I can pull my hairline a bit higher and trim my eyebrows a bit (unless I want the Haldir or Lucious Malfoy look! ^__^ )

Other than that, I must start on the mock-ups of my Hogwarts Robe. The Hogwarts patch will not be ready for ordering till much later and I'm still hesistated that we can't get a screen accurate one where it's only the Hogwarts Shield. Frankly, I thot of getting one of those 8" Hogwarts patch instead and cut out the shield only but I'll have the problem of the sides coming off and wasting USD16+++. Well, hope Jon or the person doing the patch can give us an option to get the shield made into the patch only.

As for the Pinafold, it's very, very bleak and think I can only afford it in Aug (July I promise to buy the WitchKing Sword from Danny). The cheapest I can get that is almost true to the color tone of the wool-like fabric is SGD9.50. At Chinatown, saw another option that is really wool but it's SGD12/m and not a cent less. And since I need at least 4 metres, every cent saved is essential. Hai. . . and I also must afford the wig since my hair is too long and find or get tailored the shirt (which so far I can overlook it since no one had done an accurate 1942 Myrtle *yet*).

And worse, that Xeno kid charge Yazid SGD100 for a below par Anakin Costume so Yazid can't pay me for the Jedi Food Capsules (SGD30) and Frodo Wig (SGD35; which I'll withhold till he pays up). If only I can sew stuffs with sleeves properly, I'm more than happy to do a much better and more accurate suit for the same price using better materials (Xeno used Cotton-Poly for the shirt which cost SGD1-2/m!). I'm one who values both good material and low cost remember? ^__^

Anyhow, think I better get thing going later today by begining on the beading of the belt. Kinda hesistated why I agree with Jeanette to meet FreshMeat at 7pm when I full know he gonna try to sell off his stuffs to us. Oh! It's because I want to find out when he's coming home to Singapore again and get him to buy for me those Woochies Ears and Black Liquid Latex. Will see how my mood will swing like later today. @__@

On a last note, check out the progress Julia and Leiasky did on their Elven Armors respectively. I wonder I'm really serious about doing either or both of the Elven armors when I'm done with my LOTR Costumes (1 Arwen, 1 Galadriel for Jeanette, 1 Boromir for Khelder & 1 fully armored Ringwraith No. 2 for myself). Frankly, I even wonder if I'll make any progress in my Zam Wesell armor by 2005! @__@

Oh! Must remember to get 140" of 1" Gold Ribbon and 10" of the Trimming for the other sleeves of the Galadriel Gown and have it delivered to the seamstress by 5pm today.

Couldn't resist it cause it cost a Blasting SGD32.95 from the original SGD54; 32% Discount! ^__^ Will start reading now, especially that my favourite character died. >__<

A little report on the HP Cosplay to celebrate the release of the 5th Book will hopefully be written later today. If not, got to wait a few months for it to appear on my Cosplay Website. -__^

Am borrowing Hassan's Ringwraith Robe to become Dementor but I'll also wearing my Neo Reloaded Coat under it so technically I can also double cosplay as Snape and Malfoy in his Dress Robe from GoF (now if only I can borrow the wigs).

Ya, I could wear my Vest, YJC Skirt as my Hogwarts Uniform but the accuracy freak in me refused.

Well, I choose Accuracy over Speed so this is the price I got to pay. >__<

Am Back From CosMas
Arrived yesterday nite and am very happy I choose to go to CosMas and not follow my aunt on some tour. Bought home a few items and a very special item thanks to a friend. ^__^ Will post the full report later when I got the time to write it out.

One thing I regret is that I didn't get to don my Neo Reloaded Suit. Never mind, there is always another time, especially when I got my Version 2.0 (and more accurate) done! ^__^

Almost Done Packing My Suitcase
Still need to put in my Neo Reloaded Coat, Toileteries and pack my backpack with the 2 Folders and some other misc stuffs. I'm trying my best to bring as little clothing as possible (only 3 Long Sleeves T-Shirt, 1 T-shirt, 1 Trackpants, 1 normal pants

Wondering if I should bring Maul since the 2 had been very close lately. Clefairy is coming along but she'll just be herself; no space for her Palantir and I haven't made her bodysuit & new Eye of Sauron Mask.

Other than that, think I'll be done and can caught some nap before having to get ready at 5pm (will leave house around 6.30am by Taxi). I'm only bringing the equivalent of SGD150 in RM and hope it's more than enough or I'll be Bantan Poodoo. @__@

Hmm, what I did for Tues, Wed and Thur. Nothing much; just paid the Digitization Fees for my Hogwarts Patch, gotten some stuffs I need for my trip and check out that fabric I want to use for Myrtle's Pinafold (Cheapest I can get is SGD9.50/m).

Okay, off now to continue packing and hope I had pack everything I need for my trip.

Oh! Hope toys don't tigger the Metal Detector or show in X-Ray as dangerous weapons!

I WANT TO HANG FAIZ BY HIS THUMB!
I gave him the SGD50 to put into my Paypal Account last month so that I can order my Hogwarts Patch and Elven Ears. A few days later, he said he needed to borrow it and promised to pay back by 1st week of June. Fine, I thot he needed it to buy Asra her Everstar but then by May 16th, she had broke up with him. Now it's already into the 2nd week and he still haven't pay up or even put a single cent into my account! And I'm suppose to send my USD10 to my friend to pay for the digitization of the Hogwarts Patch LAST WEDNESDAY! Stupid Ass still can't pay up!

Now I'm going to get back the rest of my money and get someone more realiable to put money into my Paypal. He can't be trusted, especially after what I see he did with his new girlfriend.

On Sat, I joined the #starwars people to celebrate a few of the members' birthday with a little BBQ. And for the first time, I saw his new girlfriend and can't believe my eyes; they are all over each other! They openly kissed each other, hug, feed each other food etc. And his new girlfriend is a Chinese! I'm have nothing against having a non-Malay GF/BF but I'm bloody against them being all over each others! I never see him did that to Asra. No wonder she gave him a long lecture on religion boundaries last week. @__@ Sheesh, some people!

Now I'm waiting VERY IMPATIENTLY for him to put my money into my account! That's the last time I'm getting his help concerning money!


Over on the Costuming front, here's the first glimpse of my Arwen Rose Red Dress. Took it last nite with the digital camera and I still feel very uncomfortable wearing the Inner Dress alone cause it's so low. >__< Feel like I want to add a cloak to it but am too broke (and no idea how to do) the Arwen Rose Red Dress Cloak. Ya, I could use my IRG Cloak instead; will have to try out tomolo to see how well it'll blend in. -__^

Must really measure properly for the other 2 LOTR dresses to make sure it don't go to low. I don't have the skin to expose too much (heck, I don't wearing anything that expose a lot in real life anyway, even my swim suit. Long Sleeves T-Shirts and long pants are my friends!) and I don't want to expose so much either.

Okay, gonna have a little bath, wash face and go to sleep. Got lots of stuffs to settle tomolo, including packing my bag. -__^

Gotten My Transparent Strap
Cost me a mere SGD0.80 but I haven't try it out to see if it's strong enough.

Anyhow, while at the Hair Accesories shop, I saw this necklace that I think can be turned into an Elvish Crown. Just 2 strips of long beads with some small rhinestones and with it costing SGD4.90, think I can afford it. Anyhow, I kinda at loss about doing Galadriel's Crown which I'll need soon and for Jeanette this Dec. Think I better off commisioning to someone more knowledgeable but everytime I ask around the local Cosplay ML/Forum, I get ZERO answers. >__< Hai . . .if only I got SGD80 to throw; then I can get it commisioned at No. 1 CostumeCostume. Or SGD120+++ and I can get one (a generic one) from USA. Wonder if United Cutlery or The Nobel Collection will produce Galadriel Crown for less than SGD250. Ya, I know; in my heart I actually want Gil-Galad's Crown but I never heard anyone saying they saw someone making it.

Darn! Will I stop buying stuffs from others and make them myself? @__@

Things I Must Tell My Seamtress For Galadriel's Gown:

Collar
- Not too low please. Like Eowyn's White Wool Dress enough. My Rose Dress one is very low (especially the inner dress!) that next Sat, I must make sure Aisyah help to keep a lookout for me whenever it get too low so I can quickly adjust it.

Collar Width
-Not too wide. The Rose Dress one is pretty wide that it can't really stay on that well. @__@ If I go any less in my shoulder width, the dress may just slip off!

Height Of Sleeves Intersection
-Must be exactly 2" above my elbow when I bend my hands.

Train
-1.5'/45cm

Hips
-Make sure the dress gets wider at the waist onwards. I'm telling her to follow the basic shape of Simplicity 9162 which uses Princess Seams and only fitting at the waist up.

And looking at Kurama's Arwen Dress, I realized that she might had used the SGD2.50 kind of Silky Satin; stiff and thin. In a picture, I can see her skin underneath the fabric. Well, I hope the Silk Satin I gotten is thick enough or I'll be in big doodoo. And for the upper sleeves of my Galadriel Dress, I really wonder if I should go on with the plan and use White Satin Back Crepe for it instead of the Double Georgette which will be used as the outer sleeves. I gotten 1 metre of it the other day assuming I want to use it for the upper sleeves but looking at the drawing, I'm beginning to have 2nd opinion cause the whole sleeves in the drawing looks like made from 1 type of fabric instead of 2. And I'm not sure if I can get the gathers with Satin Back Crepe. Will have to ask some people for 2nd opinions as soon as I upload the scans of the fabric swatch online. Must also ask what I should use as backings and to weight down the Brocade Trimming I gotten for the belt of the Galadriel Dress.

Other than that, I may be ready to send it to my seamstress by end of next week or the Mon after I comes back from KL.


While on LOTR, I found what I been seeking. It's a report from a LOTR Fan about TTT Premiere Party last Dec at Kallang Theater.



Yub, what Shufen said was true; one have to spend SGD500 on a single recipt using Mastercard to get invited to the party. Well, donno about this year but Jeanette said her friend will try to apply to be the coordinator of the event for ROTK and may invite us as Talents. Personally, I'm pretty hesistate about this cause
1) All the LOTR Singapore Cosplayers are either Malay or Chinese. Those that had been used the past 2 years are 99% Caucasians;
2) The height of the Elves & Humans is roughly plus/minus that of the Hobbits. Same goes with Ringwraith No. 5; he's shorter than me I think! And our average height is about 1.6m with Hassan at 1.8m? @__@
So I really wonder if we deserved to be the Talents for the event.

Err, about my Arwen, what ears am I to use? Hope Errol comes home by this Wed so I can get the Woochies one from him and use it.

To suck big time!!! >__< Celebro is down currently; it's cable get detached! Now not only I got to get the recharging outlet fix and the G replaced but also get a new cable cum adapter. Darn! That gonna cost me a BIG bomb! Donno if I'll be able to fix it. Will see where I can kidnap a cable for awhile so I can transfer all my Websites Original Files onto Disketts, then onto the CD-RW and work on them until I get Celebro fix. Hai . . . I forsee that I might have to borrow my grandma's money again or my bro's to pay for the repairs. Wish I can sell off my junks instead to partially pay 4 it but I very not sure if anyone is interested in getting them in the first place. Will ask my friends who're interested in helping me sell those junks at Clark Quay soon.

Oh, and when Celebro is down, I'll go into Depression. >__< Will try to let sewing and drawings reduce that.

When Oh When . . . .
Should I send in my Galadriel costume to the seamstress. Can't really decide when to do it, mainly cause I haven't got time to return to drawing out the sleeves of the dress. The 2nd reason is of course the deposit.

And I still can't really decide wherther to really get that SGD10/m cloth for my Myrtle Pinafold or hunt for a cheaper alternative (if possible, max SGD5/m!) and when to send it in. The no. of pleats still put me in doubts; no one else other than me seems to be doing extensive research/guessing on Myrtle's Uniform at the ML and forums. >__< Well, I know I can risk it but should I? I don't want to return back to work on this costume once it's done cause I want to turn to doing others (especially mine and others LOTR Costumes). Frankly, I can't even decide if I really want to wear it for the book release this June 21st which means I must send in the pinafold by this Monday and get the temporary Hogwarts patch ASAP (and pay by paypal so I get it within 7 days!).

Decisions suck!

Yes, I know she's the one "in-charged" of the LOTR Team for CosFest but for Dec, that's me! >__<

Anyhow, as we had decide, we gonna assemble another The Matrix Team for Nov in time for The Matrix Revolution. As for the members, it'll probably be me, xeno, Derrick (he also got a Neo-like costume! ^__^ ), Jeanette (she said she'll love to do Trinity if she got the cash to spare . . . or is she looking at me for some sewing help), maybe Faiz and Clare (she had posted about her interest to go for a The Matrix Costume!). And if I do the planning now, I may be able to include some of the cosplayers who had posted their interest in this thread. Well, we'll see how; got to get someone to keep a lookout for when the tickets get sold and where so this time, we'll be sure where and when we're gonna watch Revolution.

And yub, I gonna get a much more accurate Neo's Coat done. Just wonder how much cloth I'll need this time; must ask those people at RPF how much they used for theirs (well, as soon as I finish reading the thread! >__< ). And don't forget the shades as it cost SGD160 here so I also got to get someone to buy me a pair from US which only cost USD39.90. Oh, the boots; I must also get a pair as close as possible to the one used in the movie (anyhow, I DO need another Black Boots in case someone borrow my Combat Boots again; imagine a Sith Lord in Black wearing a White Boots! >__< ). Pants, I'll use my current ones (it's not that loose) while shirt I'll use that Marie Clarie(?) Sleeveless-Mock Turtleneck I gotten free a few years back (wonder if it'll fit me in the first place; well, it's made from Lycra so . . .) As for props, I'll go for the 2 poles which will just be 2 wooden dowels (3' long?) painted Metallic Black (if not I'll just use my brass/metal curtain poles; a SGD4 saving there!). I will probably also get another Toy Revolver and figure out how to repaint both so that the paint will not chip off everytime I cock the revolver. Hmm, that'll need those double revolver holsters or holster I can put only legs; I should make it myself when I find the pattern/instructions. -__^

On another note, I had published my still under-construction LOTR Team Website. It's only 50% done as I still need to get pictures of the other characters and post selected photos from events the members of the FanForce had attended in their LOTR Costumes. The tutorial is also very badly written. And after CosMas and CosFest, I may have to edit the FAQ to include the cosplayers who are also joining us for the Dec Project. And I have a feeling I want to rename the Index place as typing in http://haldirgirl.tripod.com/ will lead everyone to the Index page. Will have to experiment a bit more.

Other than that, no progress on the other websites. >__< Can't work well with the Window being all weird (stupid virus! I intercepted it and yet it still managed to change some files in my Window!). Heck! I think I also got to uninstall and install again Norton Anti-Virus cause the free subscription had expired and I can't get my virus database updated so I'm at great risk from newer viruses infections.
