The Bitterness Of Mortality Is Mine 2 Endure. . .

I Choose A Mortal Life For You, Estel . . . . For Now . . . And For Eternity . . .

Friday, February 28, 2003

I love this dialogue in LOTR:The Two Towers . . . I'm not sure why . . .

If Aragorn survive this War, you will still be parted.
If Sauron is defeated and Aragorn made King
And all that you hope for comes true,
You will still have to taste the bitterness of mortality;
Wherther by the sword or the slow decay of time,
Aragorn will die.
And there will be no comfort for you, no comfort to ease the pain of his passing
He will come to death,
An image of the spendour of the King of Men in glory,
Undimmed before the breaking of the world.
But you, my daughter,
You will linger on, in darkness and in doubt,
As night falling and winter that comes without a star
Here you will dwell bound to your grief under the fading trees
Until all the world is changed,
And all the long years of your life are utterly spent.
-Elrond, TTT

Going off to Arab Street now to look for nice Red Velvet for the Arwen Rose Dress and later to Orchard to look at the stuffs this fellow's mom is selling off. And if I can't stop the temptation again, I'll also buy the long awaited novel, RETURN OF THE KING. Must . . . know. . . what . . .happened . . . after. . . Frodo . . .was . . .captured! ^___^
I Finally Got The Japan AOTC Pepsi Bottlecaps!!
Bought the Royal Guard & Vader Bust and Royal Guard Figure from Ultimate Toys & Collectibles at SGD10 for 3. Okay for the price. Now what I want is Zam Wesell, the Vader Figure, Darth Maul (maybe?) and another Royal Guard Bust. Heeheheeh, Clefairy is turning those bottlecaps into hats for her SD Figures! ^___^

About my Arwen Rose Dress that I want to get done soon, I can't find the velvet that is cheap enough for it at Chinatown. The Uncle who has Silk Velvet doesn's seem to have them in Red (he went on some break or something anyway so I can't enter his shop) while the one next to him sell her Polyester-Nylon(?) Velvet at SGD12/metre, that's the same pricetag as a real Silk Velvet. @__@ So tomorrow, after school I gonna try Arab Street. I remember there are some at SGD8 but I can't remember what type. Just hope it's Korean Velvet or those kind that are nicer.

I also started working on my Cosplay Website but that darn Pirated MS FrontPage 2000 programme is getting on my nerve again. Can't seems to save certain pictures BUT I know how to get over that. But the process gonna be slow. >__<

I Had Finish Reading THE HOBBITS.
Phew! Finally done it; read the 3 books that comes before Return Of The King. Now, I'm all ready to read ROTK, in preparation for the movie in Dec BUT the paperbag cost at least SGD17.99 so where in the world I gonna spare the cash. I'm still struggling to pay my Internet Bill (stands at SGD220.75 now) and bloody hell, I can't get the half school fee till I pay the full fees. @__@ I also couldn't find the cover that is similar to the other 2 books >___< so there is a high likeliness I'll get the one with the Gondor Scenery. And I also want to get the Similliarn (sp?) and the 12 History Of Middle Earth books (actually 11 cause the 12th book is the appendix). Add to the the Coffee Table books, LOTR: The Malking Of The Trilogy, The Art Of FOTR, The Art Of TTT and The Art Of ROTK (ya, the last 2 haven't been released yet!), it will seems worse then buying SW Books (wait . . . . I didn't buy that many SW books; I borrowed most of them from the Library and buy only those I see going on sale).

Well, I'll see how the next few weeks.

Hai . . . guess I want to go but I'm not willing to do Eowyn again till I had her Inner Dress done. And I got to fixed the Jumper to be more accurate.

Sooooooo, since I'm itching to do Arwen (heck! It been delayed for 3 months!) and I got the Pink Patterned Organza at hand, I might get her Rose Dress done for this event. BUT, that is IF I can find Rose Red/Red Velvet (soft ones) for less than SGD8/m (I need 5 metres) and a seamstress who can do the costume for me for under SGD120. For under the Organza, I'll just use White Silky Satin, either the SGD2.50/m or SGD3.50/m ones since the whole costume is gonna be 3 layers and so no chance of what's under the dress showing through. And there goes my plan to make it myself after I had polish up my sewing skills.

And on the LOTR Premiere Front, Aisyah told me her friend's brother is willing to do Gollum for this Dec and MAC Cosplay. ^__^ Cool! Now we need not torture the Midget into becoming Gollum. Her friend is also interested in joining the team but she's wearing the Tudung so I got to squeeze my brain a lot to see which characters she can do (well, for now I only see the baddies like the Easterlings & Haradrim @__@ ).

Anyhow, I'm tempted to change blog. Maybe get the same server as Shuhui's since it got the option of putting in Mood Icon and stuffs. Customizing this blog with HTML or whatever is giving me headache since I can't see the results immediately. Maybe someday when I learn how to customized my Blog I can have nice backgrounds like everyone else. Hmmm, think this will be my choices:
1st: Darth Vader-AOTC Anakin Skywalker
2nd: Haldir
3rd: Darth Maul (TPM & Comic)
4th: Arwen
5th: Eowyn
6th: Arwen-Aragorn (AOTC Forbidden Love style! ^___^ )
7th: Easterlings
8th: DUAL!
9th: Captain Power And The Soldiers Of The Future
10th: Saint Seiya
11th: Kir Kanos-Crimson Empire
12th: Eagle's Park (the Star Park Figures/Scenes that I created)
13th: Angel Sanctuary
14th: Zam Wesell
15th: Jango Fett
16th: Fett Family
17th: Imperial Royal Guards
18th: Dark Side (Vader, Maul, Palpatine/Sidious, Dark Jedi Luke etc)
Ps: All except the first 3 are not in sequence of appearance!)

Oh yes! No SGD1,000 or LOTR figures in my Mailbox on my Birthday. :-\ Maybe someday then . . . .

Met Muzdalifah at AMK Library tonight.
It was by accident and we spent the next 1/2 hour together going around AMK Central. Wow, she's not as cubby as before. More slim. And she's working now in some F&B company. Doing okay. Well, I got her handphone no. so we could SMS each other here and there. -__^

On the Costuming Front, this guy announced at SGCosplay Mailing List that his mom is selling off her wedding gown related stuffs at prices $5-20. Contacted him and so we settle on going to his mom shop on this Sat to look at the wares. Hope I get some BIG bargain and even find those trimmings I need for Arwen's Gowns. ^__^ Well, who knows. Anyhow, he mentioned that the shop is at Midpoint Orchard and I suspect it's the Bridal Shop on the 2nd level (Heck, it been months since I go there anyway.)

Clare had also PM me that she had found those Staedtler Pens I need for the Jedi Food Capsules at the larger Choa Chu Kang Popular bookshop. Will go there tomorrow to grab as many as I can as Yazid want me to make some for him, and maybe later even Faiz. If 1 cost $1.85, guess the max I can get is 10 pens. Not really sure how much I'll charge per capsule but think it'll be around $4 and I'm being very generous here (online it's going for about USD4-10 per capsules).

There is also news that there'll be some Cosplay related events this late March and early April. Do I have to wear costumes to these events? I could hunt for some cheap Rose Red Velvet (Cotton probably), budget $5/m (I need 4-5 metres) and get the Silky Satin to get my Arwen Rose Red Dress done for that event. But that'll mean I have to buy more extra Pink Flower Patterned Organza in case I really reduce in size by Dec so can't wear the one I make now. And I still got to get more Brown Raw Silk for my Eowyn's Refugee Gown in case I screw it up when I recut the jumper.

Will see how. >__<

Wonder How Should I Word My Ads To Get More People From The Cosplay Community To Join My LOTR Group This Dec . . .
Maybe something like this:

Hi!

My friend and I are organizing a LORD OF THE RINGS group for this December.

Our primary target it to go watch RETURN OF THE KING on the day it get released in LOTR Costumes (Dec 17th or 18th?).

We'll be booking the required no. of seats at LIDO at about 6.30pm and carry out a Costume Parade from Somerset MRT Station to Lido from about 4.30pm to 6pm. Stopovers at various places like Takashimaya, Hereen etc can be arranged. If members want to do photoshoot at CHIJMES or City Hall areas on the same day, it can also be arrange but it has to be conducted in the early afternoon to ensure we're not late for the ROTK show.

So we'll love to have others who own LOTR Costumes to join us for the event, to show that the LOTR FanForce is going strong in Singapore. We are not strict about repeated costumes between participants or level of accuracy of the costumes/armor/props.

Interested? To Sign Up for the event, contact me at darth_eagle@yahoo.com

You can also check out some LOTR costumes done by our members previously HERE.

Let the project that had been in the making since September 2001 come true this December! ^__^

Hmm, how does it sound like? Or should I make it like my AOTC Costume Parade Ads too?
Jeanette kinda secured a job for some of us SW Costumers.
She has a friend who work as some Notebook Programme Promoter and he's interested in employing some of us (2 Jedi, 1 Vader, 1 Padme/Leia, 1 Royal Guard & 1 Boba Fett) for some promotion this March 7th. I kinda need the money BUT the problem is
1. She want me in my IRG Costume.
It's still with Yazid's friend and the helmet needed to be repainted (that's 1 week work at least) and the Cloak washed or remade.
2. No one got Jedi Costumes
So it's better if I do mine now. BUT I ran out of funds to buy the Brown Vinyl for the Tabbard and fabrics for the Gi.

Will see what I can do these next 2 weeks. >___<

This Other Computer had been acting weird.
Since a few days ago, I can't get internet connection for it whenever the other computer (the one my bro is using in his room) is switched on. So for the past 2 days, I can only use it in the morning/afternoon before my bro comes home. Hai . . . . what bad luck is befalling me. >__<

No improvement on my front. Still a bum. Got to wake up early tomolo to go to school and restart on my project cause I got to finish it by early April. Boy, I AM crazy. @__@

Oh yes, I really wonder if I should get the Black/Midnight Blue Silk Velvet now for Arwen's Mourning Gown. I got to get around 8-10 metres of it and that'll cost $100-$120. @__@ Ya, that's a LOT of money, and also considering I haven't get a seamstress yet. I really, really can't wait the day I can wear it BUT looking at my body shape and my needs to lose weight, I wonder if I should. Frankly, I really, really want to loose lots and lots of weight (around 30kg!!) but I just can't stop eating a lot unless I go out of the house everyday to stay away from food. And no money to buy the full set of those dieting drinks (Cambridge Diet is cheapest $99 for 1 week only!!! I need to go on a diet for a couple of months to get rid of the excess and make sure they stay away!). And these past few days, I'm having a little craving for thick Butter with Banana & Walnuts bread. And fried Cuttlefish. >__< Donno when I should start on the diet and stay away from normal food. >__<

And my dad is coming home in about 2 weeks and I haven't done a thing to the centre room or the kitchen!!! Dammit!!!
I need to tidy up my room!
And wake up earlier.
And start doing my project.
And finish up all my pending costumes.
And learn intermediate sewing skills.

And kill a midget who's irritating everyone. Boy! He can't even survive 10 minute in a thin Jedi Costume; like that want to do Gimli this Dec in the blazing evening sun? Stupid Ass!!

Went to Cosfesta yesterday as Eowyn in her Refugee Gown.
The Jumper didn't turned out too well; it didn't have the Cap Sleeves or Trimmings on the Jumper's Collar. And somehow, I overdone the sides as there is a budge at the end of the "hole" at the sides (but it made a good place to put my sword! no need scabbard or belt!). Ya, back to the cutting board for the Jumper.

I took many photos yesterday but mostly of our team. Also posed at that field that used to be Christian/Jewish Cemetary, pretending waiting for Eomer or my Faramin to come. And looking at some photos of me taken by others, I really need to put more fairer foundation AND face powder on my face to make myself more pale looking.
And get Legolas' or Haldir's eyebrows to hide my real hair color. Well, the most, I'm gonna wear the improved costume again this June so I got the time to go for a REAL sewing class and learn about Cap Sleeves, Princess Seams and such. :-\ Dec is entirely reserved for Arwen or Merry or Easterling or Elven Archer.

And the bad news about the LOTR team, Hassan is convinced he wanted to do Sauron in his armor rather than Saruman. >___< No cannot!!! I want to see Saruman this Dec and I hate to see a crappy Sauron armor in person. Hai, maybe I can convinced him again after I finish learning how to sew properly and can do the whole costume for him (as long as he pay for the fabric).

Will talk more later. It's 3.07am now and I think I need to take a nap downstairs and check why the tv is making weird noises.

Thursday, February 13, 2003

Went to Chinatown (People's Park Shopping Centre today with Faiz.
Showed him to the Wig shop and then roam around looking for a nice Brown Fabric I can use for Eowyn's Refugee Gown Jumper in case I screwed up on the Pure Silk one tonite/tomorrow afternoon. Found some wool-like fabric which cost SGD4/yard so I gotten 4 yards just in case (Guess I'll need about 3+ yard for myself who is 1.5+metre tall).

Located some Greyish Japanese(?) Silk Velvet which can be used for Aragorn's Rivendell Costume Vest; cost SGD10/m. The shop also got Red Silk(?) Velvet (SGD8/m?) that I could use for Arwen's Rose Dress Overcoat or Arwen's Blood Red Gown Sleeves but I'll just keep them on my possible list cause I'm more favor of using Rose Red Silk(or other soft, thin) Velvet.

The vinyl in the color I need for my Jedi Costume Tabbard is still there and I could also use it for Anakin's. But I forget to ask for the price at both shops that I saw it at. >__<

After that, went to No. 1 Costume Costume to accompany Faiz have a look at the Wigs and spoke with Jun about LOTR costumes. Also gave her the link to Alleycatscratch so that the shop can produce better and more accurate LOTR inspired costumes. ^__^ About Sat's CosFesta Event, she can't turn up unfortunately since she'll be working from 1-5pm. Also get to see the "Galadriel" costume they got but it's way below my expectation (LOL! I'm an accuracy freak most of the times!!) but think it'll do the job for those last minute LOTR Cosplayers. But the wearer got to be around 1.6m tall so that will disincluding Jeanatte. Anyhow, I'm thinking of making the Prologue Galadriel Costume for her if she is serious about being Galadriel this Dec (and she pay for the materials & I had polished up my sewing skill through Sewing Classes)! -__^

Later, I dropped by United Square to look for some LOTR 6" figures and there were none. Instead, I found a sword that is long enough for my taste for Eowyn's Sparring Sword in The Two Tower. It even got a "Pegasus" head and wings on the blade protector (since Rohan are the horse lords so have horse motif on their houses, armor & weapons) and later, I think I can just use the blade to make the more accurate version of her sword.
Cost: SGD6.95!

At Novena Square, I finally went to the ACE store Kenneth "B0baFett" recommanded. Fail to locate the bigger cans of Krylon's Spray Paint and Brown Wood-like color so I ended up with a 3oz Krylon Short Cuts, color Burgundy. @__@ Heck! Both Bilbo and Frodo staffs had been treated so I bet the coloring will be okay.

Later at 7pm, met 3 other people part of the LOTR Meet-Up group. All were okay and we went to Suntec's McDonald to chat, Left the place around 9.30pm.

Well, that's all I can remember now. Got to go and apply the first layer of paint for Frodo's Staff and start making the prototype and actual of my Eowyn's Refugee Gown Jumper. Then tomorrow hopefully I can wake up early and go to school to make my media for my project. @__@

I hope!!! >__<

I forget to say a few stuffs about the fabrics I saw yesterday at Arab Street.
I know I saw a similar design of Aragorn's Rivendell Costume fabric at Arab Street and I did. The problem is, there is no Royal Blue or Dark Blue or Medium Plain 'Ole Blue. There are neon Blue, Green, Pink, Normal Red, Green but no sir, No Blue. It cost $7/m so I might get it later for I-Don't-Know-Who-Will-Wear-it Aragorn's Rivendell Costume . Heck, if I had polish up my sewing skills, I'll make it for myself since the design is fairly simple but of course, I'll be Aragorn without his beard! -__^

The Korean Velvet doesn't seems soft enough for me to use for Arwen's Rose Dress Overcoat or Arwen's Blood Red Gown Sleeves. Maybe if the SGD10 Velvet at Chinatown did turn out to be Silk Velvet from Japan and they got it in Rose Red, I'll buy from there instead. Since my SW Costuming Gang and the people at LOTR_Costume Mailing List introduced me to Silk Velvet, I feel like not going back to those thick Korean or Japanese or Safron or Valentino or Three Crown or whatever Velvet. ^__^ Silk Velvet does have the Beautiful Drape needed to make the numerous SW and LOTR Costumes/Gown/Cloak and it's not too thick (you can actually see the light if put against the light!). Singapore is Soooooo Hot and I hate to wear anything thick on the road. And it can also be dyed using Dylon Multi-Purpose Dyes.

Silk Velvet seems to cost a bomb in USA and elsewhere, even eBay is having it the cheapest around USD8-12 (SGD15-20) per yard. Here, the "Indian" one is only SGD15 per metre, SGD12 when I show my school kid face ^__^ (Heck! I'm always dressed in my rejected clothing clothes so the seller must had thought I'm some student on a BIG budget!). While the "Japan" one at Chinatown is SGD10 and its thickness ranges (the Black sample piece I gotten is quite thick and got elastic backing). And I still haven't go explore Geylang or Little India/Tekka properly so maybe I'll see more choices as I get them. Heeehehehehehe, if only I got the money to buy them and get all my costumes that uses Velvet made using Silk Velvet! ^__^

Ya, it's great to be a Costumer/Cosplayer who does at least a little researchs before making her costumes!

About Moaning Mrytle 2942 Robe, saw some nice alternatives at Arab Street at the other Chinese Cloth Shop (the one that closes at exactly 5pm daily!). If it's cheaper than SGD7/m I might use it instead. What I want is the drape and thicknest. Frankly, save for Parish's Robe which uses Cotton Drill, I haven't seen a Harry Potter Robe that I think had used the correct type of fabrics. @__@ Oh ya, according to the people at the HP Costumes Mailing List, there is NO HOOD on the robes so I'll try to get the recommanded 12" doll to confirm it. Anyhow, it's for end of June cosplay so I should have more time to do research on it.

ON a non-costuming notes, since my 23rd birthday is coming this Feb 25th, I'll like to have any of the following stuffs as gifts ^__^ :
--12" Ringwraith Witchking Posable Doll/Action Figure (SGD29.90)
--6" Ringwraith Action Figure (SGD14.90)
--6" Ringwraith WITH Horse Action Figure (SGD29.90)
--14" Electronic Sauron (SGD69.90)
--6" Elven Archer & Berserk Action Figure (SGD24.90)
--Jango & Boba Fett Unleashed Figure
--Darth Vader Unleashed Figure (the first version)
--Darth Vader/Anakin Unleashed Figure (the second version, with removable helmet)
--$1,000 Cash (so I can buy all the fabrics/materials I need for my costumes, get them tailored out for the complicated ones, and pay for Sewing Class at Spotlight or somewhere nearby -__^ )
-- A Birthday Card

And I can get a free Birthday cake from Polar so I better place a reservation by the 20th for the 25th Feb. ^__^

Oh! And Muz birthday is coming this Friday so I better get a Birthday Card tomolo and hand delivered it to her mailbox this Friday since it's too late to depend on the mailing service to get it there at her mailbox this Friday.

I'm becoming a slowcoach . . . . .

Okay, off to confirm the design of Eowyn's Refugee Gown Jumper Collar now and off to make the prototype.

Tuesday, February 11, 2003

Went to Arab Street again today.
Gotten some Pink Flower Pattern Organza for my donno-when-will-I-make Arwen's Rose Dress and a Black-Grey "Transition" Polyester Chiffon for a weathered look Arwen's Mourning Gown Veil. ^___^

Saw a few trimming at my usual trimming shop that looks like can be used later for Arwen's Blood Red Gown later when I get back to it. But no sight of something I can use as a Base for the Mourning Gown trimmings. Then again, I didn't get to go to that Chinese Shop after Sultan Mosque; they seems to have a good range of trimmings too.

Still no sight of some good Silk Velvet for the Mourning Gown. The one at the same shop I bought previously seems a little wrinkled/crushed so I'll keep it as the last resort. Hope new stock will arrive by the time I'm getting this gown done, probably in late April or early May. -__^

Took more quiz:
Arwen

Arwen

If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Arwen, Elf, the daughter of Elrond.

In the movie, I am played by Liv Tyler.

Who would you be?
Zovakware Lord of the Rings Test with Perseus Web Survey Software

Now I'm destine for Arwen @__@

DARN!!!!! I BROKE MY NOTEBOOK MODEM INTO 2 YESTERDAY!! @__@
It was like usual; I put the computer onto the box to let the battery get recharged and guess what happened? The whole thing slipped and the modem hit the floor first and bent into 2!! >__< Now I got to go to Sim Lim to get a new one. Why was I so dumb??? >__<

Another, I also broke my spects into 2 at the usual place above the nosepiece yesterday morning. Tried to get a new frame today since it's the lenses that cost a bomb and now, the young girl said she got no size for me. And now I got to spend another $128 on my new spect since the old previous one is giving me heachache due to higher degree. STUPID! STUPID! WHERE AM I GONNA GET THE MONEY! I ALSO NEED TO PAY FOR MY SCHOOL FEES THAT'S $500++!! @__@

I need a break to resettle my life for now. And of course, do my Eowyn Refugee Dress Jumper by Thursday for the event this Sat

Friday, February 07, 2003

Bought a few stuffs at Chinatown and Spotlight Orchard yesterday.
Trimming for Eowyn's Refugee Dress Jumper. It's White and Gold Braids, about 1/4" wide; so I'll have to dye it a brown color (using Dylon Multiple-Purpose Dye) later. Also gotten a Blue Tailor Chalk Pencil, normal tailor chalk and skirt 3-size closure. At Spotlight, I gotten McCall's 3653, 3663 and my all time favourite 2810 (ops! size F instead of my usual C). But they don't have Butterick 3552. (T__T) But Shuhui said she gotten it from Spotlight Orchard and now the person at the counter said they don't bring Butterick Costume Pattern in. Darn! Now I got to go to Spotlight Tampinese to get that pattern and a few others (cause it's now 3 patterns for $20).

Didn't get my Dark Blue or Black Chiffon yesterday for Arwen's Mourning Gown yesterday so I'll be leaving for Arab Street and Spotlight Tampinese soon to get it and those patterns. Maybe I'll get lucky and get some trimmings for her gown too!

Oh! And I got to get a new POD card for my handphone. Only got $2 left >__<

Thursday, February 06, 2003

Bloody Hell!! I can't access my SingNet Mails!!! Wonder if they had suspended my account due to not finish paying my bills? And darn! I still got $400 more to settle as of yesterday. Shouldn't had pay my Pager Bill the other day cause I'm gonna disconnect it anyway.

And yes, I'm CONFIRMED about doing Arwen's Moaning Gown by June. Must had been the Aragorn Virus that Danny and Faiz is spreading to me . . . . . . . .

Mini Maul: Aiyah! You already selected to do Arwen since last Sept what! So what new if you don't do her Mourning Gown?
DE: . . . .. . . .

Okay, off to Chinatown and Spotlight now. ^__^
I'm becoming a noctual human . . . .And I can't really fall asleep like I usually do before 5am . . .

Can't really do my housework in the day and doing them at night after midnight. >__< Now, I had just finish writing down the patterns I want to buy for my costuming from Spotlight later this afternoon. Darn! I'm buying so many patterns and yet using only 1 or 2. Must polish up my sewing skills while I still got lots of time at home! And when is Spotlight gonna have the Simplicity Pattern I need, Simplicity 5840 (Jedi Garb)?

Later today, must remember to keep a lookout for the trimming for Arwen's Gowns (Mourning Gown and Blood Red) and Eowyn's Jumper too at Chinatown. And get those cheap earrings to make the Chainmail from the Chinatown Shop. Donno if I should place the order for Merry's Wig now when i'm gonna wear it in Dec (in case I'm not doing Arwen).

I'm off to write down what else I got to buy and then to sleep (or nap). Aiyah! Like this I make as well go to school on Sat to make the media and check my stuffs. @__@
Previously, I said I'll be Ringwraith No. 2 this Dec for RoTK Premiere. Took a little personality test and guess what I got:

Which Ringwraith are You?
By Lisa

Coincidences? I think not! :-D
Muwhaahaahahahaha!! I'm now the City Rep of Singapore Star Wars FanForce. (^_^)V Saw that my UserName was in Red just now when I logged in to check on the FanForce Board and had a message from the Region Rep. Had change the color to the Blue on Transparent color scheme for City Rep and now got to figure out what else I got to do as stated by the RSA in her PM. Well, after I get rid this heachache of mine from sleeping so little and drinking too much tea (-_-)zzz

Anyhow, I went to my bro's school today and gotten my Acrylic Rod and Wooden Dowel cut to their appropiate size and shape. Will paint and shape them later, probably after Cosfesta. I'll need the Oven too cause I'm using Scupley which dries up by Oven bake for the wands. A BIG Thanks to Mr. Yong for helping me cut the parts. (*^_^*) Heeheheehe, in a few months' time, I'll get your help again to make my wings skeleton and my Elves Sword okay?

Oh yes, another $100 was paid out for my Internet Bill. Still got $400 to settle for it, and $20 for the Pager Bill. Darn! I must remember to downgrade my Internet to the minimum cost and cancel my Pager soon. And get another $10-$25 Pod Prepaid Card for my Handphone.

Wednesday, February 05, 2003

Must repeat this to myself 100x a day:

I will not buy the fabrics for Arwen's Mourning Gown and have it done by the new seamstress until I had settle my bills and school fees! I will not buy the fabrics for Arwen's Mourning Gown and have it done by the new seamstress until I had settle my bills and school fees!

I'm having the delusion of posing at Fort Canning or CHIJMES or Orchard in it, looking all sober and sad like Arwen did in the movie; since I had decided to have it done to replace my Blood Red Gown yesterday. :-P Frankly, the gown was initially wasn't one of my favourites due to its lack of better, full body pictures but after seeing Naira's gown recently and hearing that my BR Gown may be gone case, I realized that it is actually quite easy to do (so most seamstress who do wedding gowns can do it too!). Hmm, maybe I'll just buy the fabric for the Veil (Black/Midnight Blue Silk Chiffon), the Red Insert (some Crimson Stretchable Matt look fabric), Buttons and the Trimmings now . . . . :-D That'll keep my desire down till more pictures appear on the gown and I got the money to buy the Silk Velvet (it's $12 per metre after putting a poor student face at Arab Street! And I need at least 8 metres to get the full gown with train and big sleeves done! @__@ ). Hope the Book "The Arts Of The Two Tower" will have this gown in larger format and full bodyshot, front and back! :-D

Aiyah! I must really go and learn how to sew Gowns and Robes at the Community Centre! Then I can really make sure Jeanatte and Hassan do Galadriel and Saruman respectively this Dec, while making the rest of my costumes like it was made by the seamstress/tailor.

Oh yes! Must remember to get some Brown/Wood Krylon Spray Paint, to paint Yazid's Frodo Staff ASAP.
Forget to add:
Celebro is acting weird again. Before, I can't Scan Disk or Defrangement the harddisk, which I put to the installation of the Broadband/D-Link. Then, the electric wire outlet for the recharger had shifted causing me having to hang the wire from the screen to ensure it stays in the top portion and the battery rechanged.
Now, after intercepting a few HTML.Redlof.A virus, I can't set the My Computer-Eagle's Stuff screen to be in Web Page format. Must had deleted something important after that darn virus had been quarantine and deleted manually. Now I can't view the pictures or website while in My Computer.

Must remember to bring this notebook to the school's Toshiba Computer Service Centre or the one at Kallang Way next week on my "Off" days. Bet I'll need to change Celebro's Harddisk within 1-2 years, as soon as I got BIG money and the harddisk finally give up on me. >__< And now I must go through the endless hours of backing up all the files to CD-RW. >__< Wish this notebook is connected to some Zip or CD-R Drive (but I can't afford to buy them now!). And ya, something is awfully wrong with the Printer after the last time I removed the ink carteriage.

Problems! Problems! Problems! >____<

BAD NEWS!!!
I'm probably not going to see my Arwen's Blood Red Gown soon. X-( Fuck that Nora A. Samad ass!! She had ran off with my best pictures of the gown and my much bargained fabrics for that gown and my Adam Kadmon costume! I'm seriously gonna cut her payment by 50% now if she come backs to me with the stuffs and 75% if I don't get back them back by early April! And I had to save up on buying marketing stuffs the past few months just so that I can buy the fabrics! FUCK HER ASS!!! X-(

Anyhow, since I'm Arwen Gownless, I had technically choose to have her Mourning Dress from The Two Tower done for this June's Cosplay to replace the Blood Red one. Heehehehe, an excuse for me to wear the Black Chiffon Veil. Got to go all over Singapore looking for the fabrics, trimmings and buttons and draw out the pattern soon. And also must pray hard that, that shop at Arab Street have the Black Silk Velvet I want, as the last time I checked, their Silk Velvet seems to be the "crushed" type. Well, unless I find a cheaper but comfortable alternative to Silk Velvet (Midnight Blue Velvet anyone? :-D ). At the current rate of me having to pay my school fee and internet bill from you-know-where, I can only start buying the fabrics in April and send it off soon after that so that I'll get back my costume by end of May. But I can get the trimmings and buttons now, or start making the trimmings.

Will have to check out the seamstress Cik Rosnah recommanded to me at Joo Chiat Complex this Sunday.

I'll start making the mock up of my Eowyn's Refugee Gown Jumper this Sat or Sunday (or even tonight). I'm having problem sleeping these few nites I think. :-\

Eleven (11) more days to Cosfesta and I still haven't done my Eowyn Refugee Gown Jumper. @___@ Frankly, I have no idea how accurate I'm gonna make it this time; wherther I'll attempt to make Cap Sleeves (How am I to make Cap Sleeves anyway?) or how am I gonna put the trimmings on its collar or what lacing to use. Anyhow, I haven't even dyed the fabric cause it been raining heavily daily and I need to hand it out to dry along the common corridor downwards.

The Blue Inner Dress is on hold for now as I'm a gonner at making dress (so must send it off to a seamstress). And I also need to dye it a darker shade of Dirty Medium Blue and maybe even add those golden threads on the sleeves parts. Must remember to read through the posts about that gown ASAP.

As for the other props and costumes, no improvement either. Must go all the way to Novena Square to get Krylon's Brown Spray Paint. Must also drop by Arifin's school D&T lab to get my wooden sticks turned into wands and the Acrylic Rod cut to the size I need (5').

Ya, lots and lots of stuffs do these past weeks and I must tear myself away from this computer too! -__^
Hai . . . . thanks to my aunts, my depressed mood had fallen even more. Why in the fuck must they disturb and do my work in the house? For God sake! I want to clean up the kitchen cabinets first and replace the paper before putting in the glasswares and making sure every single plate is shinny clean! Blast them! X-(

Anyhow, my dad will be going off this Tuesday afternoon and I'll have full power over the house for the next 1 month. :-D YES! I can do my sewing and cutting in peace downstairs and come home late (I really, really want to see LOTR: The Two Towers again and the last time I check, the earliest show is at 9.45pm >___< I didn't fully catch the beading/embroyies on the Ringwraith Hood and Arwen at the end of the Battle at Helms Deep!).

And I think this will be my schedule till I complete my Final Year Project:
Sun, Mon & Tue: Home (Sewing, Prop Making, Tidying up my room etc)
Wed: Project Work 8am till 2pm
Thu: Same as Monday
Fri: Project Work 8am till 5pm
Sat: Probably Project Work 9am till 12pm

And things to do so far:
Final Year Project: Till end of March or early April.
Eowyn's Refugee Gown: Version 1.0 by Feb 15th and Version 1.1 by June
Staffs: Frodo Staff Version 1.0 by Feb 15th and Frodo, Sam & Bilbo Version 1.1 by Dec. No, I'll not try for 100% accuracy. Just not happy with the surface of the Version 1.0; think it need the Bondo.
SW Props Painting: And lets not forget my Royal Guard Helmet. Still not sure what paint to use cause I have very little choices in Bright Red Velvet now (and not forgetting I lack the funds! >__< )
My Room: Tidy it up. And that means throwing away all garbage and selling off stuffs I have no interest in anymore
The House: Tidy up the center room upstair, Kitchen Cabinets, Living Room Cabinets/Drawers and Probably the store room under the staircase. And find the Kids' Skate so that I can have the part I need for Zam's Shoes. -__^
Sell Off Stuffs: Must ask Jeanette which Sunday she's free so that we can sell off our stuffs together. I need to create more space and need to money.

Oh, did I mentioned that I have a Blue Stone Ring that can pass off as Elrond Ring of Power? ^__^ Maybe I should wear it when I put on Arwen's Gown. ^___^
